I have these times where I'm overwhelmed by the beauty of what's around me

By how we destroy without remorse, without delay

So powerless, paralyzed

Against raging tides we can't fight

We have no right

But justify extinctions

We're lost

In a world so careless

Chasing the next distraction

While I'm stuck once again

Staring up at this canvas

My lust is to explore the edges...to fill in the void

But what's the point when the problem is so endless

Staring into space...into the emptiness

I can't find my place

Among the incompleteness

Tell me how

I need to find a way

To come to terms with this

All your eyes are dead and your fire's out

No one wants to think about what happens next

Just keep in this line

Just keep burying your head

Can't resist

Can't turn away from this

As your complacency and your ignorance ignites all our progress

Will you carry this torch for tomorrow

Or watch as the fountains all dry out

Will you hold on to what has been started

It can't repair or maintain itself

Will you trade all that's worth your survival

For parlor tricks and the cheapest thrills

No matter how insubstantial we might feel

There will always be a missing detail

So end this right now

We've had enough

We know we can get out…

No matter how this seems to be in the grand scheme

What matters is the purpose we believe in

How precious is it to take what is empty

and turn it into something you believe in
