The Message

Ladies and Gentleman, Brothers & Sisters, Friends of the world

As we sit here on this pale blue dot hurtling through space

Towards an inevitable and dramatic conclusion.

I'd like to thank you, wherever you are

For spending a few of those precious moments with us.

And as this chapter draws to a close I'd like to share with you

The greatest thing that I've learnt

in my own revolutions around the sun.

This, is our message to you.

As I travelled the world, from North to South

From East to West

I collected all the teachings, all the stories

And all the fables I could find

And managed to condense them down

Into just four small words to live by.

Four small words to change the world.

Don't. Be. A. Dick.

Now I'm sure like me, of late

You've turned on you Tv and witnessed the hate

You've switch on your radio, opened up the paper

And all you hear and all you read is violence and anger

And hatred and division

And sadness and lies

And you've turned to your loved ones

And cried to the skies

Just what the hell is going on?

Dear God, what have we become?

Now, I ain't sitting here saying I've got the solution

I can't save the world, I can't provide absolution

But what I can say with absolute and unerring conviction is this

In this church

It doesn't matter if you're black or white

Or straight or gay

It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman

Or anything in between

It don't matter if you're rich or poor

It don't matter if you're Israeli or Palestinian

Or British, or Syrian

None are lost all are found

It don't matter because in this church we stand as one

One congregation underneath the Sun

But if all that is too much to recall

Just think of those four small words

That could save us all
