Lonesome Road

I've been on a lonesome road

Just to see how far it goes

If it even ends-who knows

Learning as it bends to and fro

And a storm on the horizon grows

Is it all a fantasy?

Or if it is what I'm meant to be

And what is there besides, of me

Turning with the tides

Floating on the breeze

'Til a storm cloud breaks inside of me

Will you remain my soft companion

When the days turn into weeks

Across the rivers and the canyons

I will drive so you can sleep

I've been on a lonesome road

To anywhere the trade winds blow

Here and then away again

Would that I could stay, my friend

But my shadow grows behind me

And my rhythm slows

'Til you find me in the kind of places trouble goes

And if the sun should rise behind me

How the cracks will show
