Wristwatch

With my beanie pulled down over your eyes

Hunched in sleep

And my coat wrapped around you two times

I watch you breathe

I put on my wristwatch, set the time to 5:30 AM

Throw my phone in the fire

Then leave before I change my mind again

I float up to her and say

"What are you doing at a place like this?"

She says, "You can be the astronaut man

I'll be the hypnotist"

Your mouth is working swiftly

It's just a little nimbler than your mind

But I'm leaning and I'm woozy

Walking through the blue dawn
