Bare feet

Step onto the frigid concrete

Out of bed

Loads of caffeine to clear the fog from my head

Drive to work

Inevitably cut-off by some jerk

But I don't honk my horn

Cuz I'm so numb I can't be bothered to feel scorn

I just want to feel warm

Fill my brain

With enough distractions to numb the pain

Of consciousness

Doing menial tasks that are utterly pointless

To survive
