Mystery Suspended

I will tell nobody where I’m from,

Mystery suspended, in the air hung.

Do you know what I’m thinking? No, you don’t.

If you listen closely, you will know.

Was it ever something you could hold?

You could try, but you’d have to know

that riverbeds of nothingness will flow

right by your eyes and then let you go.

What you know about me– this translucent body–

is nothing but a haunting illusion.

We could be, so clearly, it would be so easy.

Isn’t this a part of being human?
