I do not paint pictures, but I love to write songs

Do not understand women so I'm living alone

Sometimes I feel lonely and if it wears me down

I pick up my guitar when the pain comes around

Guess I'll be a drifter and a vagabond singer

A lost romance lives on in the songs that I'm singing

My storybook's closed don't know where I belong

But you paint a new picture while I'm writing this song

It used to be different but that's long ago

Then you took off and left me to roll with the flow

Some memories are vivid and some of them vague

My guitar keeps me from going insane

Your brush and palette are all that you need

My songs and my guitar are all things to me
