It’s been a long, cold winter, but I don’t feel the chill inside

I been adding to my armor, ‘till it’s thicker than an elephant’s hide

The springtime comes with gentle fingers, trying to tempt me outside of my door

I’m not ready to be in roses, but I might want a little bit more
