You spend time in buildings, learning how to fold a piece of paper into a nifty little box, a crashing plane or a diploma

After finishing school you linger around about a year, eating your parents’ food and sleeping in their beds

The remaining hours you spend making chaotic mid-night snacks when you should honestly be looking for a job

You’re working on your walking

You’re working on your talking

You’re working on your social skills

You’re working on your backhand

You’re working on your songs

You’re working on your maths

You’re working on becoming who your daddy used to be

The loneliness and craving and the money you were saving fading away sum up your only continuity

You either break up with your girlfriend or stop drinking for a week

They say you never change a winning team
