These Days

Oh lord I'm grateful for another day

A day where I can learn to live again

I ain't never been the one to pray

But these days I'm taking all the help I can

Now the tension's growing stronger in the air

The space is growing barren on my shelf

Folks in charge never seem to care

These days it sure is hard to help yourself

So don't you come on through with no bad news

Because we ain't got no use

We got sunshine and it's warming up on these hard time until we're strong enough so we can stand

These days we ought to try and lend a hand

Well you don't have to ever be afraid

Of what you don't understand

We had to lay down in the bed we made

And now we got some change at hand
