I Have Been a Unicorn

Ever since the day that I was born

I have been a unicorn

With my rainbow hair and my golden horn

I have been a unicorn HEY

Now there are times when I felt so forlorn

It's hard to be a unicorn

When no one else has a rainbow mane

And they all look and act the same

And if you really want to be a part of their crew

You're gonna have to be a little less like you

Whatcha gonna do?

Now there were times I tried to be a horse

But everyone found out, of course

As my colors all began to show

And my golden horn, it began to glow

Everybody said you looked strange before

But now you kind of feel like an open door

With my book of poems that are slightly torn

I have been a unicorn

It's almost like we'd all forgotten what we always knew

We're unicorns

Through and through

There's no one like me

We're unicorns from the day that we're born

We're wild and we're shy, more than meets the eye

We come from nowhere, we vanish in air
