One in waking life

One a fabric of time

At the lake

It was windy and bright

My first memory of life

Energy, you comfort me

When I don't know where you come from

Family, don't let me go

To the place i don't want to come back from

I think you knew it well

Your way

Through the magic eye

Listenin' in the dark to the mind

Not afraid to die

Homegrown laughter and a movie star smile

Taught me how to see the pain and joy in this life

Breathlessness, how did that come to be?

And why do you keep getting farther away

Or is it just the plane

We live on today

And can we escape

Become somethin' of fate

And is it a long way?
