I'll be married by the time I'm twenty-five

To the boy from the high school dance

First guy who held my hand

And I'll have a white Mercedes in my driveway

Live in a big old house on the good side of town

Thought all my dreams would happen just like that

I wrote 'em down, I prayed 'em out, but lookin' back

Some things look good on paper but sooner or later

You find out what you want ain't always what you need

Sometimes you try to plan it and you don't understand it

But then I think of all the things I might've missed

I used to get so disappointed in myself

All the boxes I'd left unchecked, what hadn't happened yet

But now I can't imagine life without
