I haven’t seen you in a month or more

The last time we talked your hand was on the door

Looking down and empty streets

I am looking passed you

You were looking passed me

Sometimes you have to ask him why

Why you look up in the unforgiving sky

The questions too tough

It’s what you don’t hear

That’s not enough

Grief is not a friend of happiness

It hides in all the empty places

Of a world that we created

That you can’t put back in again

So go and open up that door

Let those feelings out and try to hope for more

Keep your eyes out on the prize
