The Swan

The house  curtains rise

We were standing  there

2 little girls 

Flowers in our hair

Who knew what we’d find 

We were mesmerized 

Then the curtain fell 

And we realized

Another fight for the waking life

Did you lose  your  way?  was it a sacrifice? 

It’s impossible to understand 

What tore your fingers back from your clinched up fist?

You shut your eyes with confidence

I think of the dance  

The dying swan

Why they added it 

To the story line

Her movements 

Her grace

They were beautiful

In her wilting arms 

Lay her power 

Oh we met a lifetime ago

I’ll see you…. somewhere i don’t know 

Sure you could do anything…. but you had something to lose
