Afterglow

Sharpen teeth or sink beneath it

I’ve been stuck here before

Should I go or should I stay

I can’t think straight anymore

Within this frame defined

Turn blue to grey in time

I’ll just end up being silent

Because my words don’t mean a thing

Why should I take all the blame

When I’m just hanging by a string

Taking time to think it over

While my heart is checking in

It’s a game of keeping secrets

That I’m never going to win

Transparency’s apparent swings

Watch them rise and watch them fall

Colors returning, bright and burning

Turning points, one and all

Breathe in deep

Painting pictures in the mirror

Where it once was black and gray

Drifting closer to the colors

Of a bright and sunny day

Isolation was a friend

But now I’m glad to see them go

A change of seasons, state of mind

Basking in the afterglow
