Take me back to the days

Of the river every evening

Still the stage of meeting

Still in flight

And take me back to the nights

We had nothing yet to lose

We had it all left to prove wrong or right

And we were all just living

Not too concerned

And maybe nothing more was learned

But we were free

After all that giving

Or at least we thought

Never mattered if we'd fall

Or so it seemed

The world's weight was not our burden

It's okay to be uncertain about things

That we had before we looked up

And saw the world to be so fucked up
