Velveteen

I paint all my dreams in velveteen

The night can grow long and bend oh-so easily

I can brace for the fall

Or do nothing at all

My mind is a warship draped in velve-velveteen

The tears of an angel fill my cup

I wait for a sign to fall from the heavens above

I can drink from this land

And then die by her hand

My thirst is an ocean laced in velve-velveteen
