Carved Lines

It feels cold, and I feel old

And all these gray hairs warm up my soul

And though these lines of my face feel new

I've been carving them my whole life through

Well, I eat the sun, and I drink the rain

Oh, I treasure life but loathe the pain

And when my eyes can't focus on the view

I have my memories to get me through

To give up and turn off instead of risin' up to the sky

Throwin' peace signs up in the air without a care

Instead of lettin' someone else define you

Well, I've seen a lot, and I've lost a ton

I've wasted time to have more fun

So many people have assisted in my gain

One day I hope I make them proud of me

So many lies that I have told

So many wrongs I did unfold

But I've grown strong in my thirty something years

And yet I can't shake my childhood fears

Yeah, I know it's easier

So relax and make dreams, give love, big hugs
