Uplifted

They told us we were meant for,

till end of times.

When love is heading offshore,

we will figure it out.

Why don’t we fight for it,

we come so far.

You whisper to me softly,

you’re holding me down.

I’m building up a house of cards,

to hide away my battle scars.

It always felt like we had something missing,

but now I feel like we’ve been uplifted.
