Here on Forest Green

Everyone knows that the life is so serene

And what's not to love

Under the sky and the shining stars above?

A subterranean life

I don't get out, don't see much daylight

I guess the air is sweet

Familial ghost, come and haunt me in my sleep

Only stay here for survival

Every day is like the one before, it seems

On Forest Green the lights go dim

The awful night was creeping in again

It's something that you've known since birth

You understand this place is cursed

It's in the landlord's smile

The satisfied gaze of the rank and file

We got the sea and the sand

We got colonial days on stolen, stolen land

No more oasis in the Anthropocene

Only flat, black glass

Under the waves and gone at, gone at last

Only stay here for survival

Always room for new arrivals on the scene
