Saviour of My Natural Life

As a boy, I heard the gospel in church on Sunday

I learned that Jesus Christ was much more than a normal man

And that he created me in his own likeness

Then from a rib, he made a woman

To be a flower for a seed

As I grew, I just kept clinging to that rock of ages

Kept a shepherd's watch for my lost lamb

And when he led me to the light and my eyes beheld her

She was almost holy, baptism in the touch of her hand

And I believe that you could walk on water

Change a river's course, give sight to the blind

Cleanse a sinful soul of imperfection

And I believe that you're the savior of this natural life of mine

Yes, I believe in miracles and something spiritual

To give me daily bread when I get weak

And I believe in this someone that walks beside me

That fills my life with everlasting peace

When I die, I hope my soul will go to heaven

'Cause I know that I'm just passin' through this world

But I believe that God gave every man an angel

To have a little taste of heaven while livin' here on this earth
