World I Know

I was notified I needed rearrangement

As they put in place my total disengagement

From the world I know

I felt my anger grow

The Doctor's promised I would find contentment

After removing every remnant of resentment

That I had shown

In the world I'd known

I could feel my mind being leveraged

I was brittle against the flow

In a weakened state

I was forced to abandon

Memories of the world I know

After seven years of treatment and confinement

I was free to leave and given an assignment

To search and scan for aberrant behaviors

If exhibited by family friends and neighbors

And no light shines through

From the world i knew

Wherever there's a therapeutic need

A disconnect from the machine
