The rain stopped coming round 7 and the heaven's were

Gold as a gong and robin's egg blue

With a memory of you

Of a cotton war bright dress you once wore

In a kindred hue

Jitterbuggin' on a pill and gazing at a Gatsby

At some god awful do

I was gingerly twisting, watching enraptured

What else could I do

Years on in a winter cafe window

Proper hopper in the hurry home gloom

As the tail lights spidered through

In your after work makeup and still at work shoes
