these signs of time -

of days and years gone by

from long gone houses and

long gone places

and cars and dogs and people

familiar faces

and I wonder about the

bridges burned

things I gained and lost

pages turned

there were times I just wanted

to pack up and run -

but something lingers on

you would be the one

you would be the one

if I could change my song

you would be the one

when all is said and done

you would be the one

we've been told

that life leads to something

something good if we live the right way

far ahead down the road we'll be greeted

and get our salvation

Get ourselves a lucky day

some things were proud of

some things we regret
