The hiss of abhorrent things
And darkness gladly took her underneath her midnight wing
Dead branches cut her legs
Scratched her face and eyes
Her stomach turned out desperate growls
Against the howls of hollow trees
That cried against the night
The poisoned air flowed through her blood
As her cut feet mingled with toxic sludge
Weakness stole her newfound love
And numbness stole her bewitched high
Alicia rested on a tree to be awakened by a fearsome sight
A Valkyrie stood above her, fierce as the darkest night
