Artist Biography
Gospel artist Jonathan McReynolds grew up on Chicago’s South Side and sold 1,000 copies of his 2010 EP, The Very Unofficial, at a local church.
∙ Radio airplay and positive online buzz for his R&B-inspired “No Gray,” which he recorded in his college dorm room, helped him land a record deal.
∙ In 2014, he performed two songs with one of his musical idols, India.Arie, on BET’s Celebration of Gospel.
∙ He’s won the Dove Award for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Recorded Song of the Year twice: “The Way That You Love Me” (2016) and “People” (2020).
∙ Life Music: Stage Two (2015) and Make Room (2018) both received Grammy Award nominations for Best Gospel Album and topped Billboard’s Gospel chart.
∙ The uplifting “Not Lucky, I’m Loved” was his first No. 1 single, reaching the top spot on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart in 2018.
∙ At the 2019 Stellar Awards, he won all eight categories in which he was nominated, including Artist of the Year.
