At age 10, gospel singer-songwriter Kierra Sheard won a Stellar Award for her recording debut—a duet with her mom, The Clark Sisters’ Karen Clark Sheard—called “The Will of God.”
∙ Her 2004 LP, I Owe You, became the first debut album to enter Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart at No. 1.
∙ Sheard had a surprise No. 1 radio hit in Japan with 2005’s horn-peppered soul-pop single “Let Go.”
∙ She made her first Billboard Hot 100 appearance with a vocal feature on Mary Mary’s R&B-influenced hit “God In Me,” which also topped the dance charts and won a Grammy Award.
