Artist Biography

With a mature, mellifluous voice belying her teenage years, Filipino singer Charice (born Charmaine Pempengco), a one-time reality show star in her homeland, became something of an internet phenomenon when a fan spread videos of her performances on the popular YouTube site. By the end of 2008, the peppy, diminutive singer with Whitney Houston-size pipes was a favorite of the OPRAH and ELLEN talk shows. After she was taken under the wing of producer David Foster, her anticipated 2009 debut featured a surfeit of majestic pop, buoyed by the Diane Warren-penned "Note to God."
