Zanda Zakuza is best known for blending elements of Afropop and house music. Born Zanda Ntombshayivosho Zakuza in 1993, the Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal native made her mainstream debut on DJ Mdix's 2016 dance-floor banger "Umvulo." She broadened her musical reach by appearing on two of the biggest South African house songs in the late 2010s—"Skeleton Move" by Master KG and "Club Controller" by Prince KayBee. In 2018, she released her debut album, Synthia (The Journey), showcasing her signature Afro-house sound and soulful voice over upbeat songs, including lead singles "Hamba" and "Hair To Toes," both featuring Bongo Beats. The self-proclaimed "Dragon" further bolstered her star power with the release of her sophomore effort, Khaya Lam, a collection of melodic house songs in 2020.
