Budding balladeer Yazid Izaham got noticed the same way as many artists of his generation: through social media. Quickly signed to the same label as maestros Aiman Tino and Sufian Suhaimi, he was immediately in good company. And listening to label debut “Mudahnya Kau Berubah” and follow-up “Tak Pernah Mengalah” makes it obvious why he was snapped up—his youthful lilting tone give his pop ballads an innocent sentimentality, counterbalancing the genre’s grand instrumentation. And to think he’d eyed engineering as a vocation with singing as a backup—looks like it’s the other way around.
