Over five decades, UK hard rock band Whitesnake released multiple charting albums, including a run of seven straight Gold and/or Platinum-selling LPs in the 1980s alone.
∙ “Fool for Your Loving” became the band’s first radio hit in 1980, landing in the Top 20 in the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
∙ While “Here I Go Again” was first released as a single from their fifth studio LP, 1982’s Saints & Sinners, it didn’t become their signature smash hit until it was rerecorded in 1987.
∙ Their mainstream breakthrough came in 1987 with their 8-times Platinum self-titled LP, which featured the chart-topping hit “Here I Go Again ’87” and its No. 2 follow-up, “Is This Love.”
∙ At the 1988 BRIT Awards, Whitesnake was nominated for Best British Group.
∙ After reconvening for a celebratory 25th anniversary tour in 2003, they recorded four new studio songs that appeared as bonus tracks on 2006’s Live: In the Shadow of the Blues LP.
∙ Their 2019 album, Flesh & Blood, returned the band to the UK Top 10 for the first time in over a decade, and it also hit the Top 5 in Switzerland, Scotland, Germany, and Finland.
