Born Willem Bijkerk, Dutch pop singer Waylon named himself after his idol, American country music icon Waylon Jennings, and he even joined Jennings on some American tour dates in 2001. After struggling for several years back in The Netherlands, he was cast on the reality television show Holland's Got Talent in 2008 and finished in second place, garnering significant fame in the process. Waylon then collaborated with British hitmakers Martin Terefe and Sacha Skarbek on his 2009 solo album debut, Wicked Ways. Comprised of English-language material, the album found him pursuing a retro soul- and rock-influenced style. Wicked Ways reached the Top Five of the Dutch albums chart and spawned the Top Ten hit single "Wicked Way." His sophomore album, After All, arrived in 2011. ~ Jason Birchmeier
