Artist Biography
A gritty country-rock band with a knack for vivid storytelling, the Oklahoma outfit Turnpike Troubadours was instrumental in bringing the Red Dirt sound to the mainstream.
∙ Just a few months after forming in 2007, the band self-released their debut album, Bossier City.
∙ Goodbye Normal Street, from 2012, was their breakthrough LP, cracking both the Billboard 200 and the Top 10 of the publication’s Independent Albums chart.
∙ Both 2015’s The Turnpike Troubadours and 2017’s A Long Way from Your Heart peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
∙ Rolling Stone included A Long Way from Your Heart on its list of the 40 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2017.
