Debuting in 2007, The Heavy is a UK band known for combining garage-rock riffs with raw funk and soul grooves.
∙ “How You Like Me Now,” the group’s signature song, took off after appearing in a 2010 Super Bowl commercial, and it’s since been used in dozens of films, TV shows, ads, and video games.
∙ Two of their albums reached the Billboard 200: 2009’s The House That Dirt Built and 2012’s The Glorious Dead.
∙ After performing “How You Like Me Now” on the Late Show with David Letterman in 2010, The Heavy were asked to play it a second time by the host, who rarely requested encores.
∙ The Heavy enlisted Daptone label founder and Dap-Kings bandleader Gabriel Roth (aka Bosco Mann) to assist on The Glorious Dead and their 2016 LP, Hurt & the Merciless.
