Led by singer-songwriter Brian Fallon, The Gaslight Anthem is an American band that has released acclaimed albums combining elements of punk, soul, folk, and classic rock.
∙ Fallon formed The Gaslight Anthem in 2006,influenced by the music of The Clash, Social Distortion, and Bruce Springsteen.
∙ The band broke through with their second LP, The ’59 Sound, which made NME’s list of the Top 50 Albums of 2008.
∙ Bruce Springsteen joined The Gaslight Anthem onstage during their performance at the 2009 Glastonbury Festival, an event that boosted the band’s UK sales by 200 percent.
∙ The Gaslight Anthem won Best International Newcomer at the 2009 Kerrang! Awards.
∙ In 2012, Handwritten peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, while its lead track, “45,” reached No. 11 on the Alternative Songs chart.
