In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In 2001 we helped Biffy Clyro load their gear into the Barfly venue in Cardiff. As I remember it we were the ONLY people there. They played an incredible show and blew everyone (including the staff) away. Always play your best show.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Fleetwood Mac, Rumours Super Deluxe Edition Frightened Rabbit, The Midnight Organ Fight LCD Soundsystem, LCD Soundsystem All three are hugely formative albums for us. Fleetwood Mac a classic, with warm production and timeless melodies. Midnight Organ Fight changed my life and showed you can write vulnerable, honest songs with a just a couple of chords. LCD rule live!
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Trouble” We are really proud of this track. There is an honesty to the lyrics and it was written in quite an unfiltered / uncensored way during the pandemic with vocals recorded in Tom's bedroom cupboard. It's a live favourite and gets pretty massive!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Travelling to Toronto in 2022 to play the NXNE Festival. We played three shows in two days at some of the most iconic venues in the city, met amazing people and played to full rooms who knew our music despite being thousands of miles from home.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To play Glastonbury Festival! We've done a few different small festivals and in fact played the big ones as individual musicians but never done Glasto as Broken Fires. Emily, if you listening... We're very nice and won't cause (much) trouble.
