The Disco Biscuits are a quartet associated with the jam band scene, though they distinguished themselves from their peers by incorporating some jazz and electronica elements, especially techno and trance. The group formed in Philadelphia in 1995, and self-released their debut the year after. Their sophomore effort, UNCIVILIZED AREA, appeared in 1998. Meanwhile, the band developed a strong nationwide following by touring with the Jerry Garcia Band and the Black Crowes, among others, and appearing at major U.S. festivals. A live band first and foremost, the Biscuits continued to expand their wide-ranging sonic palette in their lengthy concerts, a development reflected in such forward-thinking records as 2002’s SENOR BOOMBOX and 2006’s ROCKET 3.
Members of The Disco Biscuits include, or have included, Marc Brownstein.
