With husky vocals and infinite determination, Tanya Chua leaves a trail of creative flair in Mandopop’s wake. A guitarist and vocalist who started out in the English-language scene, Chua gradually transitioned to Mandopop around the turn of the millennium, most notably with 2005’s Amphibian and 2007’s Goodbye & Hello. Known for her warm medley of folk, rock and pop on tracks such as “Red High Heels” and “Beautiful Love”, she exudes confidence in her critically-acclaimed output, documenting everything from her travels to her most vulnerable states. From relatable pop to experimental electro, Chua continues to exceed expectations.
