A professional guitarist since the age of 16, iconic French star, Sacha Distel, was, by the mid '50s, one of France's foremost jazz instrumentalists. A longtime fan of Frank Sinatra’s, Distel released his debut single, "Scoubidou," in 1959. A prolific songwriter, Distel wrote the standards "La Belle Vie" ("The Good Life") and "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head," the Oscar-winning number from the film BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID. During the '80s he returned to the guitar with the albums MA PREMIERE GUITARE and MA GUITARE AND ALL THAT JAZZ. He was awarded the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 1997 and died in 2004
