About Ruthie Foster
Artist Biography
With a naturally expressive voice that has drawn comparisons to greats like Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald, Texas-based singer and songwriter Ruthie Foster has a wide palette of American song forms, from gospel and blues to jazz, folk, and soul. After releasing a pair of solo albums in the late '90s, she kicked off a long-running relationship with Blue Corn Music with 2002's Runaway Soul that included Grammy nominations for 2009's The Truth According to Ruthie Foster, 2012's Let It Burn, 2014's Promise of a Brand New Day, and 2020's Live at the Paramount. In the meantime, she took home Blues Music Awards no less than eight times during the 2010s and again in 2023, following the release of her ninth studio album, Healing Time, which added another Grammy nomination to Foster's credits. Mileage marked her Sun Records debut in 2024.
