Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was 5 or 6 and my parents had Christmas music playing. Little Saint Nick by The Beach Boys came on and changed my life. I didn't know what I was hearing back then, but the harmonies and arrangement...I asked my parents to play it constantly. (Mat)
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Mayer, Continuum Justin Timberlake, The 20/20 Experience (Deluxe Version) The Beach Boys, Pet Sounds Continuum by John Mayer: No other artist has had such an impact on me as him. Tell us why you chose this song. “Maybe in the Morning” From a production standpoint, this may be my current favorite Raynes song. It's delicate and restrained but still texturally lush. The interplay between the fretless bass and the African percussion elements is addictive to me. (Mat)
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? We played a hometown show in Bismarck, ND recently and seeing the reaction of the crowd was a dream come true. It was the 1st time we had seen a crowd of 1,000+ people knowing every word, to every song. That's a feeling that will never get old.(Mark)
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Winning a Grammy would obviously be a huge achievement, but headlining a global festival like Glastonbury is certainly an ambition of ours (Mark & Joe). There are a million things, but above all else I want to write one song that lasts forever (Mat).
