About QARAN
Artist Biography
Composer-producer QARAN sprinkles Indian pop with style-hopping melodies, velvet-smooth vocals and confident rapping skills.
• QARAN aka Qaran Mehta’s broad outlook was informed by his growning up in different countries, including Indonesia and Singapore.
• He has a Master’s degree in audio production from the University of Westminster in London and worked with global players before securing career-changing production roles with the likes of Pritam.
• He composed his debut single “Tareefan” for the soundtrack to Veere di Wedding, which he performs with versatile rapper Badshah.
• Blending sounds from Punjabi pop to rap and R&B with hints of Afrobeat and reggaetón, QARAN followed up with the likes of “Kishmish”—featuring Momina Mustehsan and Ash King, and composed for his sister’s wedding—as well as “Ki Khena”, an international collab with renowned house producer R3HAB.
• QARAN is proud to showcase his production and composition skills under different lights. His dance-oriented smash “Haaye Oye” surrounds Ash King’s romantic vocals with sinuous EDM beats, while the sparse acoustic version features a touching performance by Jonita Gandhi.
