Winnipeg punks Propagandhi were forged in the cauldron of mid-'80s political hardcore but their subject matter is always on the cutting edge of contemporaneous discourse. Picking up where Dead Kennedys left off and Bad Religion intermittently appeared, Propagandhi refuse to ignore the world around them, utilizing thrilling, melodic thrash-punk as a platform to comment on issues as varied as vegetarianism and animal rights, capitalism, sexism, and war-mongering. Their early work, including 1993's How to Clean Everything, was released on Fat Wreck Chords and featured a more humorous, skate-punk style. Over time, their message grew darker and more complex, culminating in assured efforts like Less Talk, More Rock (1996) and Supporting Caste (2009) that reflected the socio-economic discord of the times. The long-running group issued their eighth studio album, the savage yet introspective At Peace, in 2025.
