In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first gig we ever played as a band was Moomba Festival in Melbourne. We remember getting onto a packed tram with all our gear in peak hour traffic on a scorching hot day. Look back at this to where we are now, it really sums up Playlunch.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Anderson .Paak, Bruno Mars, Silk Sonic, An Evening With Silk Sonic Michael Jackson, Off the Wall Vulfpeck, Thrill of the Arts These albums all formulate a distinct sound and influence for what Playlunch is based upon. The energy, musicianship & compositions of not only the tracks, the albums as a whole are fundamental to Playlunch as a band.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “No Hat No Play” This is the debut single, and first song that ever got written for the Playlunch project. At the time, it was just a silly song written out the back of our share house bungalow, but has turned into something we could never imagine. We are GRATEFUL!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing at NYE on the Hill Festival in 2024 was a huge achievement. The band all attended the year before as punters, dreaming of someday getting to play. Fast forward 1 year to the day, we performed to a packed audience which was really special.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We'd love to tour internationally in the near future. Especially to see if any overseas fans understand the silly Australian references we like to include in our songs. It'd also be amazing to someday sell out The Forum in Melbourne as a headliner.
