With their roaring sound and mordant wit, Mclusky are one of the U.K.'s most acclaimed and influential acts. When the scrappy Welsh post-hardcore band arrived with 2000's My Pain and Sadness Is More Sad and Painful Than Yours, their pummeling attack -- hit home by frontman Andy Falkous' scathing vocals -- turned heads. The band delivered an acerbic indie rock masterpiece with 2002's Mclusky Do Dallas; on 2004's The Difference Between Me and You Is That I'm Not on Fire, they doubled down on noise. Following Mclusky's sudden 2005 split, Falkous and drummer Jack Egglestone founded the equally sardonic Future of the Left, but the foundations of a reunion were laid in the mid-2010s. By the 2020s, Mclusky were touring the world, and their fourth album, 2025's ferocious The World Is Still Here and So Are We, was the work of a band that had only gotten better with time.
Members of Mclusky include, or have included, Matthew Harding.
