A British folk-rock group whose music walks a line between acoustic traditionalism and a contemporary embrace of electronics, Matthew and the Atlas were founded by singer and songwriter Matt Hegarty. Possessing a rich voice and a soulful lyrical viewpoint, Hegarty and his group enjoyed breakthrough success with 2014's Other Rivers, a thoughtful and impassioned blend of organic and electronic flavors that earned the endorsement of Mumford & Sons. 2016's similarly crafted Temple included the international hit "Elijah," and Hegarty took a more D.I.Y. approach to recording on 2023's This Place We Live and 2024's Many Times.
Members of Matthew and the Atlas include, or have included, Tommy Heap, Alex Roberts, Lindsay West and more.
