With their hooky blend of Latin, tropical, and electronic pop, Spain's Locomía (aka Loco Mía) have carved out a distinctive place in dance music. Recognized by their glamorously rococo costumes and the oversized fans with which they performed, the group emerged out of the Ibiza club scene, spawning hits like "Locomía" and reaching the Top 40 in Spain and Latin America with their initial albums, 1989's Taiyo and 1991's Locovox. Internal conflicts and lineup changes brought the band to an end in 1993. However, they eventually returned, releasing more albums and becoming the focus of the 2024 documentary film Disco, Ibiza, Locomía.
