Artist Biography
Born in 1970, Sasha Sokol became famous at a very early age as one of the original members of teen group Timbiriche, the launching pad for many a Mexican pop star. Trained at Televisa's talent school, Sokol was selected to join Timbiriche in 1982. She remained in the band until 1986, when she was replaced by Thalía. In 1987 she released her first solo album, the blockbuster Sasha. Sasha continued recording albums and also developed a secondary career as a television and theater actress. In 2007 she took part in Timbiriche's 25th anniversary reunion. Between 2012 and 2016 she formed a trio with Benny Ibarra and Eric Rubin that went on to achieve considerable commercial success with its tours and albums. ~ Mariano Prunes
