Based in Utrecht, Dutch jazz-rap artist Kyteman is a multi-instrumentalist who performs primarily on trumpet and directed Kyteman's Hiphop Orkest, a hip-hop orchestra featuring upwards of 12 musicians and eight rappers. He made his recording debut in 2008 with The Kyteman EP, a three-track release featuring his debut single, "She Blew Like Trumpets"; his album debut, The Hermit Sessions, featuring ten rappers performing mainly in English along with some French, arrived the following year. The Hermit Sessions reached the Top Five of the Dutch albums chart and spawned the follow-up single "No More Singing the Blues." Kyteman's next full-length, The Kyteman Orchestra, was released in 2012. His widest-ranging effort yet (featuring opera singers and a choir), the album's title notably did not include the word "Hiphop." ~ Jason Birchmeier
Kyteman has also released music as a member of The Kyteman Orchestra.
